Nope!! Time to dig not plant. You can plant them this fall. Potatoes don’t like the summer heat.

I've planted twice in the fall. The potatoes turned out good. I planted about Labor day and dug about Thanksgiving. Marsh is the expert tho and I'm sure will chime in. I'm a rookie.....

Here on the gulf coast, I’ll plant in August and dig them in November when the plants die off or frost kills them. Potatoes usually aren’t as big as spring grown potatoes but you still get a great harvest if weather conditions work with you. The problem with fall planting is seed availability. I always put some potatoes from spring harvest aside for fall planting. I’ll do the same with sweet corn and snap beans. They all do well in the fall also.

Thanks, may try a few this fall and then do more in spring. The good thing is I can water them is it gets dry.

Same here. When I first started with the big gardens, I’d plant most things out in the back field away from the house. Between coins, coyotes, possums and deer, they almost ate more then us. I’ve since moved everything right here at home. Best part of it is now I have a lot less grass to mow. It’s a plus all the way around for me.
