I’m Charlie Brown and these birds are Lucy. But I’m here hoping today is the day I finally kick the ball. Good luck y’all!

Only bird I heard was 2 properties over and shock gobbled at 6:18 to a shotgun blast across the road from me. I could just barely hear him. A few minutes later he gobbled about 10x. It was all over by 630. I left at 7 to swing by the house before going to work. These birds are so weird. I heard 5 or 6 different ones yesterday and the most gobbling I’ve heard all year but today, very quiet.

Working. Sadly all I hear are people snoring and dialysis machines beeping. Haven't been since Sunday and I'm itching to go. After today I'm off til Wed, but a lot of rain in the forecast sadly. Rainy days are field days. Clearcuts, pastures, green fields and roads. Slip around and see them first.

So my days of hunting sunrise are probably over this year. In trying to strike up midday gobblers, I am thinking about trying small blocks of public around bankhead. Anyone ever have any luck doing this? I've been looking on OnX and there are lots of little areas around bankhead that are public right off a road surrounded by private woods. I'm generally lost when I don't know where they are gobbling in the morning and am thinking of new strategies to try out. You have a 12 o’clock cutoff on public now.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!
