Anyone know anything about these Turkish made guns? Looking to pick up a youth 20 gauge. My go to gun is the Remington 870 pump and I already have one youth sized 20 gauge in the 870. But these Tristar shotguns (either Viper G2 or Raptor) semi-autos have me intrigued and I like the $350 price tag for the Raptor at Academy.
What say ye o knowledge of Aldeer?

I bought my son one but he decided to use my 12 dove hunting Saturday. I used the youth 20 and loved it. Used the full choke tube and it seemed to do great for dove. I would have probably went with the modified but the full was in it and after trying and hitting a few birds I just left it in.No jams or any other problems. May buy one for myself now.
Lead, follow or get the HELL outa the way!

Have you researched who will do warranty work on them? Briley handles the warranty work for Yildiz, another Turkish made gun.

I haven't researched at all. Aldeer is my first stop. Just window shopping right now.

I have a tristar .410 side by side with an english stock that I love.
Great looking little gun too.
I've shot rabbits and quail with it so far.

At one point, I was researching the Turkish semi autos for a turkey gun but eventually opted for the pump for that application. The one I was gonna get was the Weatherby SA-08 simply because Weatherby seems to really be standing beside their guns and importing parts needed to repair them, great reviews, their guns come with 2 different gas pistons (one for light loads and one for 3" loads), their gun is the exact same design as the reliable Beretta A30X design, etc. Best I remember, the Mossberg SA-20 and Tristar were of similar design and perhaps even built at the same factory, but folks were scared of the fact that the customer service and availability of parts were suspect. Mossberg will pretty much tell you to kiss off on the SA-20...they say that is a Mossberg International gun and they can't help you.

I'm not positive but I think the Tri-Star is made by Baikal. If so, it should have been cheap to purchase and be reliable. Turks make decent shotguns at reasonable prices.
