Anyone know of an ammunition manufacturer that offers a 12 Gauge 00 Buckshot Tungsten load in 2 3/4 or 3 inch? TIA

Unless I was hunting hogs or cars, I can’t imagine wanting to deal with errant pellet and over-penetration lethality from those things. I own some of the old Remington version 00, but leery to shoot them on dog deer drives. I’d almost rather shoot tri-ball loads. The guys that I know that hunt coyotes with TSS use #2s-5s.

Brian, I bought some T shot for making buckshot (what Hal recommended). You can get about 40 in a 2 oz load. I have not shot anything with them yet, but I loaded some in 12 gauge for a farmer buddy of mine with a hog problem. He said it was carnage lol. They will go through a pine 2x6 at 80 yds.

Sounds like Thor’s hammer, Joe 😂. I looked on Apexmunition site and found some T- shot 12 gauge loads. That should be able to get the job done with plenty of down range energy to stop an animal.

How many pellets would be in a 2 3/4 00 tungsten load?

I can’t find any info on how much one tss 00 weighs 2dogs. It would either have less pellets than a comparable lead load, or the payload would be a lot heavier.

I can see if I can check one of the Remington HD 00 loads. Thinking some are 2-3/4

What is this for?

I've always wanted to try BB sized tungsten . I think it would be mean.

I’m not fired up about putting stuff that hard, in anything larger than #2s through my barrels/chokes. I’d for sure stay improved cylinder or less.

I can't find it either. I did find that lead weighs 11 grams / cc and tungsten shot weighs 18 grams / cc. So tungsten shot weighs a little more than 1.5x what lead weighs. A lead 00 is supposed to weigh 54 grains. My crude math puts a tungsten 00 @ 87 grains. There is 437 grains in an ounce. So somewhere around 5 tungsten 00 pellets per ounce. That ain't many.

The few folks I know that shoot tungsten buckshot are using T shot and are killing them a long ways off. I like to shoot too much for it to be costing me that much to pull the trigger.

If it’s for coyotes, #2 and #4 TSS out penetrate #4 buck. I know folks that use it on coyotes run #2-#4 TSS….pellet count per ounce drops way off going bigger, due to density.

Not sure. Might look at the Nitro Ammunition website. It's really not hard to load buckshot, I can't imagine TSS is any different. All you need are the components and a roll crimper, and a drill press or hand drill. I'm making better than factory buckshot, way cheaper.
