Just wanted to ask a couple questions about these bullets because I had someone give me 20 of the 7mm 120 grain TTSX to try in my 7mm-08. I've been reading alot on them and it seems like all of the reviews are good for the most part but most of what I'm reading says that they like alot of jump. I looked up the load data on barnes website and it recommends a COAL of 2.800 but from what I've read to seems like most are loading them anywhere from 2 750-2.800. For the ones that have loaded and shot these do you think it would be better to start off with the length that barnes recommends or load them shorter since everyone says they do better with more jump. My next question is has anyone had good results with IMR4064? This is what I've been primarily using in this rifle but I do have 2 pounds of big game to try also and if it shoots good and I can get more if I need to. Just trying to narrow it down since I've only got 20 on hand but I do realize every rifle is different and usually likes something different. Thanks

I use 45 gr of IMR 4064 for the 130gr. Barnes TTSX .308.
I loaded the COAL to what the rifle liked in the past for 130gr bullets.

I loaded some up to try last weekend at 2.800 which is what the load data on barnes website said so as soon as it cools off a little I'm gonna go see how they shoot and go from there. I started at 47.0 grains of big game and went up in 1 grain increments all the way to 50.0. When yall start with a load like this at the recommended COAL do yall see which shoots the best at the recommended length and then start adjusting it from there?

I don't care about book COAL. I measure the lands and back away from there. Only time I measure for COAL is to make sure they'll fit in the magazine.

My 7-08 loves 48 grains of H414 or W760 under a 120 gr NBT.

I load to the tested COAL. I don’t care how far off the lands I am or the distance to it.

TTSX is about the baddest bullet out there. It punches a hole on both sides and retains most of its weight from what Ive found. As far as the COAL I load mine the way N2TRKYS does.

It isn't necessary to see a good tackle...you can hear it.

Especially in light for caliber applications, i.e. 80 gr .243, 120 gr .284 etc.

"Cull" is just another four letter word...

I use a 120gr in one of my 6.5 PRC’s and it’s a hammer on deer.
