The 10 percent don't have to be food plots! 9% could be pines that are thinned and burned in rotation. Really and truly, just taking care of them way that's best for habitat and the trees themselves. The burning, "most" clubs or members would do that. They could get even more free things done by the paying customers that benefits them! Too much liability in burning for any company to allow that.

NH is right. Soterra is currently stumping/clearing two new plots on our lease that we did NOT ask for (we're sure appreciative though). Soterra is VERY easy to work with and seems to care about the customer (within reason).
Years ago I was a member of a hunting club that leased from Rayonier and the president (and many of the members) HATED Rayonier. Between rate increases, threats to split the lease into smaller parcels, Mexicans raking pine straw, people given permission to hunt coyotes in the off season, the list went on and on.
With Rebelman working for them and maybe a change of attitude toward the leasse's it won't be as bad.

I've handled leases for several private landowners and have leased or been in clubs that lease for a long time. Rayonier had about 300 acres I leased for several years till they sold the property and I never had a bit of negative dealings with them. I think I was probably lucky that the forester our of Andalusia in charge of the leases in that area had plenty of common sense, liked to hunt and was a dang good guy. They had the charge per acre for plots at that time and he was VERY lenient on the estimate. It relates to the amount of value an acre of land could produce in timber growth per year for the company. The economy is bad and most of the clubs I know are having a hard time getting enough members to pay their lease without pouring too many hunters per acre on the tracts. A LOT of property will not be leased this year. I have always changed $6.00 per acre plus the insurance. When the owners would say something about going up on the price, I would tell them that they need to handle the leases. I didn't have any of them that wanted to mess with them and I don't have any problem leasing the properties. I have leased a piece of property from rayonier for 5 years now. The first 3 years went by with no problems at all. Jeremy Tankersly (out Of Andalusia)was over the hunting leaase part for the first three years and he was a good guy to work with. When he Jeremy left Rayonier things got a little more difficult. I used to not have a problem at all getting in touch with Jeremy if I needed anything but now I can`t hardly get anyone on the phone. I hope to continue to hunt this piece of land at least until I can`t afford it anymore.

The addition of Reb to Rayonier can only help things, if he will remember what I have taught him Seriously though, Brad is a Great guy and will bring a lot to the table with Rayonier. Look for some changes down the road.

Thanks, NH.
We both know you can't please everyone but I can guarantee that overall customer satisfaction will increase. You gonna let us know when any prime tracts open up in Andy? I own some land in Andy but am always lookin for other opportunities.
