Decided to start a new thread. Take a picture of a plant. Go to the photo. Swipe up to the photo properties or hit the i (info icon) A plant icon will appear on the screen and also it will say “Look up plant”. Tap icon and voila plant identified.

Been verified.....I just happened to be headed outside when I saw your message, took my phone, took a photo of a plant and the phone ID was easy to follow......I took a photo of a hickory seedling......

Wow. This is cool!! I sometimes take pics of plants and flowers that are pretty and just look interesting. I just tried this on a pic of leaves and another one of a purple flower. It came up magnolia and virgina spiderwort. Spot on. Thanks for posting.

These AI plant identifiers aren’t very reliable. I’ve been experimenting with several (picture this, Plantum, plant snap, picturemushroom) for a few years now and while they have improved, they make a lot of mistakes. Bottom line: they are pretty cool to tinker with but don’t bet the farm on them.

It will do that with any picture. I just tried it on my Boykin. It brought up a cocker but close

Yeah it’s pretty good but not always accurate. Better than guessing for sure

Same with google. I’ve searched ragweed a bunch and I get pics of goldenrod

Pretty cool feature I just found out about also. I used it the other day to identify 2 different butterflies I took a pic of. Be nice if they have you a damn instruction manual now days when you buy a 300 dollar phone 😬

Well, I've used this twice and it is 0-for-2. The first time I tried was on Dog Fennel. I honestly forget what it ID'd it as. I've just tried it on Burnweed. The app said it was a plant that only lives in south and central America. Believe I'll stick with PictureThis.
