I have hunted around Hackleburg also.

Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

Deer hunting was good in my opinon.

Turkey hunting sucked, no birds in this area at all. Heard one gobble all season.

Interesting. Every time I go to my new club near this area I see birds in different areas

I haven't but last year a buck was allegedly killed in Marion county that will be a Buckmasters bow state record if confirmed. Not sure where or how far that is from the place in question.

I hunt the Byrd Community area, which is South of Shottsville. Some nice bucks have been taken in both communities but, they don't have no turkeys.

Funny all the turkey talk. I went to ride over the place and saw the biggest turkey I ever seen. Ok so next question Jason, They tell me its a Jan. rut. 2nd week of January about right? Also what do you think about the population, numbers, buck ratio, etc?

Sounds about right on the rut date. More does than bucks for sure. I have even seen lately fawns with spots still.
