For you guys that spray your food plots how much weed killer do you add per gallon. I have always used a quart to 25 gallons which is a 1% solution after doing some reading seems a lot of people use a 2% solution just curious what other people are doing and what results you get.

If you're gonna be stupid you better be tough.

I use 3oz per gallon and it kills great. It kills privet easily.

Asked a farmer friend this yesterday. He runs a big JD sprayer, 80 ft boom. For grass they do 1 qt per acre. He suggested bumping it up to 48 oz per. He told me to use 2 oz per gal of water for good kill in plots. That's about 50% stronger than what he uses. I'll be doing 48-50 oz in 25 gal water per acre. He said that is plenty.

In my 15 gallon tank I add 32 oz of Gly, if I'm going to spray bushes I'll add about 8 oz of Arsenal with it. I also use about 4 oz of surfactant.

I use 64 ounces to 25 gals. That will kill the hell out of just about everything.

I use 60oz per 25 gallons for my initial spray and if I need to come back for a second one, I drop it down to 40oz to 25 gallons. I have only had to return one time to a plot that was covered in johnson grass.

I always bushhog first and then wait unitl there is new growth shoots up to about 6" tall before spraying.

I wouldn't spray at less than 1.5-2 % or you will probably have to come back on some weeds like Johnson grass. I use one quart to 12 gallons thats slightly over 2%.

Gly is so cheap there's no need to cut corners, especially when you're small scale. My dad told me one time if you're farming count every penny, if you're planting a few food plots make sure it's done right even if you have to spend a little extra.
