Got a buddy who hunts with me on my land, weighs about 275. I’m going to get us a couple tripods this year but don’t want anything flimsy or small seat so he’ll be able to use it too. Any recommendations? Lookin for 12 ft or higher.
Thanks guys

Game winner from academy has seat kinda like Millennium. They are super comfortable. I'm 6'2" 400lbs and I feel good siting in them

Get some adjustable boat seat pedestals and replace the base for the seat. Pull the pin and adjust the seat to your liking. We did this with all the ones we have. Made a big difference.

I have five 16’ with 4x4’ baskets that my good friend George Mann Sr. at Opelika Metal Fab gave me when he was building for Strong Built. He was a BIG man and modified a tripod to fit him. Took two people and a truck to stand it up due to weighting a couple hundred pounds.

Quadpod. I used one for a number of years. Ranged from 250-320lbs through those years and it never felt unstable or rickety, like many tripods I’ve been in. The covered ones are nice when it is cold and windy, but hot when it is warm. The covers last a few years if you remove them at the end of each season and maybe 2 if you leave it out all year (flimsy window zippers only lasted 1 year when left out). Sun kills it.

Dang son, a family tradition tripod 14' is $850. I'm sure it's quality but little out of my budget if I'm going to get two of them.

Called Sure Shot there in Alex City to check the price, she told me $850 if the price doesnt go up. I said "Wow, they proud of them aint they" She said we get about 50 of them every year and sell out before hunting season is over. They very sturdy and last forever. The people who buy them are the people who have been in one or have one already. Said they real comfortable.

I've never owned a Family Tradition stand, but climbed in one once. So sturdy it felt like it was part of the tree.

QuadPodMine was like this, but can’t remember the original company name, it’s been 15 years.

In my opinion, Strong built made the best lock on’s, stick ladders and ladder stands available in the 90’s.
To the OP, the game winner quad pods are the ticket and won’t break the bank.
Ya'll are just overthinking it now

I don’t personally care for tripods but I bought my dad a Muddy name brand one last year to set in corner of a cutover. I was impressed with how solid it felt and comfortable.
Workin for the man, huntin when I can.

QuadPodMine was like this, but can’t remember the original company name, it’s been 15 years. I thought we were looking for a manufactor quadpro, not the name of it. Not looking for a double seater tripod, the one above donia does not swivel either. I dont see much to choose from on tripods that look sturdy. By the way, I did call summit yesterday cause I have 2 tripods left out of the 4 I had made by them. They told me they quit making them because steel is so high, nobody would pay the price it takes to make and ship, then markup from vendor. Said they have quit making everything but climbers now and the price on them has gone up again this year.

Yeah, the one I had was when they first came out, so there have been improvements in the seating. That’s where Marshmud’s suggestion of installing a boat seat bracket comes into play. The flat, thinly padded bench seat leaves a LOT to be desired. The Millennium swivel seats would be the ticket!
