I need a tiller for garden this year. I had an old Craftsman that belonged to my grandad. It's worn out and left at old home place. I'll be tilling an old garden spot where previous owner had his awhile back so it will be like starting a new plot. Any brands I should look at? Thanks.

Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

I've had the18 inch rear tine craftsman tiller for about 10 years now and it stills runs great, I only use it maybe twice a year for small gardening projects, the largest area I ever tilled was about half and acre and it did great.

I’ve got a Troy Bilt rear tine. Had it three years. No issues.

I bought a used 80's model Toybuilt "Horse" for $400 5 years ago. No issues whatsoever. Those old one's have a Helluva gear drive transmission and replacement engines are not that expensive. It leaks a little gear oil.....so have to add some every so often.

Don’t know how far you are from Cullman but I bought that $700 20” rear tine Yard Tough brand I think? It’s orange. I’d let it go for $500. Bought it a year ago and used it once. Thought I’d use it more.

Troybilt Horse is good. You can rebuild them over and over. I wore out the original motor on one and then repowered with a predator from Harbor Freight. It was still going when I sold it a few years later.

Now I have a BCS. Best there is but high dollar.

I keep a quarter acre garden. We grow to eat and put up to eat year round. Most people have what I call tiny gardens. If you're doing something small you may just want something small like a Stihl cultivator. If you're doing something big then an old Ford 2000 may be a better buy than a new BCS tiller.

Find out what Marshmud uses when he tills up the state! That man has a garden bigger than the town I live in. Whatever works for him will definately work for you.

BTW-His gardens never have a spec of grass in them! Best looking gardens I have ever seen.

This, I like my TB rear tine, 8 hp B&S. Got it cheap, put a new carb on it, starts every time. Does a great job
