Nope, they’re totally different. You want ag lime if you’re trying to raise your soil pH.

The reason that’s incorrect is that ag lime has to be very small particle size to actually interact with the soil. Above a certain point, the mechanics don’t allow the lime to affect the pH.

It’s the same reason a block of wood that weighs a pound will burn about 100 times slower than a pound of sawdust. It’s the mechanics of the interaction.

But go ahead and trust Google laugh

What is that size exactly, and exactly what size is the particles in the barn lime? Im really curious to see your answer on this because you would have to know the answer to both questions to be right about what you said, and i know you dont know the answer to one of the questions for a fact. Lime will effect the ph over time if its as big as a driveway gravel. I doubt the lime in the bag of barn lime is quite that size. The lime the co op spreads has pretty good size pieces in it sometimes.

If you’ve got 3 years to see the effects, by all means, spread the big stuff…. but they don’t mesh the stuff for nothing beers

How do you figure 3 years? The barn lime I've seen is 50-60 mesh. Your math doesn't work out pal.
