My wife got me a Ruger Super Redhawk in 44 mag with a 2.75" barrel for Christmas and I want to change the grips. The wood grip is just way to slick. I'm looking at the Hogue Nylon monogrip. Should I go with the nylon or rubber?
Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated. By the way the range officer at CMP Talladega really doesn't like you shooting their steel targets with a 44 mag, paper only.

My .02, I like the rubber grips on heavy recoiling, compact guns like that. They’re comfortable without being spongy or tacky.

I wasn’t aware that they ever made a super redhawk without a rubber grip, I don’t mean to doubt you but are you sure you don’t have a standard redhawk, vs the super?

My apologies sir. You are correct it is not the super redhawk. Thank you, I believe I will go with the rubber grips.

The Hogue rubber is what what Ruger ships the Alaskan with.
The only difference is they have the the Ruger hawk where the Hogue emblem normally is.
A few years ago I bought a pair directly from Ruger to go on a Redhawk I had.

I ordered a set from Sportsman Warehouse. They were a little cheaper than the Hogue site. Didn’t think to check Ruger.

Them old pachmayr grips r bulky and just look Gawd awful 😃 I've purchased a few the years that had 'em, if i couldn't find some originals, i just slap some Hogues on them.
