Anyone have any recent reports from the lagoon? I have a kayak slam tournament there Saturday. The trout should be easy enough, but I'm not real sure where the best area will be for reds and flounder. Any tips would be greatly appreicated.

Do you have to stay in the yak or can you get out and walk? I've worn out some reds hanging out on the west side points of sand. Used croaker. I'd beach the yak and sneak up to the points. If they see ya that is it they seem to be very skittish in the lagoon.

Unfortunately I do have to stay in for the tournament. Getting out like that is what I like to do, but it's not allowed with the tournament rules. I'll keep that in mind. I thin I'm going t launch from that little birding trail spot on the west side

That's where I like to launch from as well. Yeah with a cold north wind I'd stay on the north end for sure.

Fish the dock lights before sunrise if you can for easiest reds. Flounder will be in the holes/drop offs or under lights as well.
