100 gr TTSX or a 115 gr Ballistic Tip would be my suggestions.

Another good suggestion...

IF you can find R26, AKA Unobtanium.

IMR7828SSC has given me nearly the same velocities.

And easier to find than RL26

Keep your booger hooker off the bang switch.

Not a 25-06 but a buddy of mine shoots a 25 wssm and he loves the hornady interlocks 117 grain BTSP.

When I had one, I killed a few deer with the 115 grain ballistic tip over 4831. Seemed about perfect for the job. My brother still has his and has killed quite a few with that load even though he can't shoot straight half the time.

Years ago when they made the 25-06 Remington 122gr Extended Range, that’s all I would even consider.
My Rem 700 Custom Deluxe Mtn Rifle would consistently print 1/4”-1/2” groups…and printed better on colder days. Evidently the powder Remington was using for the 122gr ER’s was a tad temp sensitive (but still shot great).

When Remington quit making those, I’ve bounced back and forth between Hornady 117 Boattail soft points and Barnes 100gr TTSX with RL22 or 4831.
Both drop a deer bang/flop if you put it high shoulder/neck/spine or just a head shot.

Agreed on RL26 being unubtanium…and the 122 ER’s being discontinued made me sick.
I had just about given up on getting it shooting well again without a barrel change…but got a nice CDL from someone on here at a reasonable price, bedded it, and have gotten it back down to about 3/4” at 100 yards.
Doubt I’ll ever sell that rifle.
Since I don’t have any more descendants, I’ll hopefully find a kid that truly digs a workhorse 25-06…and gift it to them one day.
