ALMODUX, would you mind sharing your weapon setup, and also if you have a calling sequence that seems to work. I've seen 5 yotes, and 2 bobcats in the last two sets, and could never get them to comitt and come in. Also made another set, that I could hear diffent ones howling, and never got any action. Thanks in advance.

I have several guns, but my main setups for most things are a built, lightweight AR with a good barrel, and sometimes 55gr tipped varmint loads, but normally I poke all my 224/5.56 size holes in stuff with 77 grainers. The other is a Ruger 10/22 and sub HPs. Both suppressed. I shoot at least half with a rimfire, inside 100, IVO of populated areas vs just out in larger farms. Signature reduction is polite, and a 22hp in the head or chest will kill them, they just run 50-100 on chest shots. More than one shot in there speeds things along. I use a Bering Hogster 25 on the rimfire and scanning, and a Super Hogster on the centerfire setups. I hardly ever do anything but coon or rabbit distress, and a mouse distress squeak to finish or stop. Most of the time, I don’t even call. Night hunting is completely different than day hunting with coyotes. During the day, you’re trying to convince them to leave beds/cover, so you can see them. Night hunting, you’re trying to just get them or you in range, or prospect with a call to see if you’ve missed seeing any in the vicinity of a cutover or field, before you move on. They’re already out and about…..somewhere. More of you finding them, than them finding you. They’re often already busy hunting something already, that you aren’t likely to call them off of. Not always, but it’s a different activity time, at least in my experience. I move, walk, stalk, and scan FAR more than call.

The 22 is far cheaper on armadillos and turkey threat varmints, as well.
