Here y’all go. Keep in mind our club is 4 1/2 or better. Deer weighed 155.

You can’t base an age off of weight

Observations: Deer in powerline pic looks like he’d meet the 4.5 requirement. Having hunted that general area, unless your buck was killed late/during or after the rut, if he weighed 155, chances are good that he didnt meet 4.5 requirement. Can’t tell much by the dead deer pics but looking at deer’s face and neck characteristics, he looks young. That said, you typically don’t see that type of moderately heavy beading around the bases on most young deer. Lastly, that’s not a good pic for scoring but it does not appear to be a 125” buck. Looks maybe 110ish to me. One of Y’all just post up a pic of the jawbone and resolve all the he said she said. .

I ain't got a dog in the fight.

But most bucks I've seen and had the age verified by jaw extraction show that a 4 yr old buck killed prior to the rut in the Blackbelt region are gonna be in the 200# range live.
I know there are exceptions, but I've hunted 46 years in the Blackbelt and natural food or supplemental food added, resulted in jawbones that showed MOST 3 - 5 yr old bucks killed prior to the rut were 185# or greater. My experience and hunting friends experience in this area.

To the 4 1/2 yr old theory: you know conception dates are skewed by our crazy breeding due to more factors than I feel like typing about. So how do you know the buck's b'day? 4 1/2 rule?? It's a range at best based on DCNR breedign date averages.

I've been in clubs where they stated the main beam had to be so long or it had to have so many points and I mean really, it's an AL deer.
What can you judge and estimate while he's live on the hoof? Weight, body structure? We've all seen cull 4 or 6 pts. that weighed ~ 200 pounds and probably was best they were gonna be, so there goes your min. point theory. And we've seen that 10-12 point that weighed in at 15- 175 pounds and turned out to be a 3 yr. old range

Don't take the fun out of hunting, pick 1-2 criteria that you can realistically judge the buck live on the hoof and roll.
No more than 10 rules are your going to have problems. And let PAYING members vote on them or pay the whole lease yourself and you want have the problems and drama.

Here you go. The pic of the deer in the powerline (that Cole posted) is not the same deer that was killed. Just because it’s killed in the same field doesn’t mean it’s the same deer. There were other people there that evening that can verify the deer was underage. I included a trail cam pic of the deer he killed. Jawbone is also included. It’s important to note that the jawbone was not pulled before the deer was taken home. So, I’m assuming this is from the same deer, but was told that this was the jawbone from his taxidermist. When he was asked that night if he was going to mount it or euro, the response was “I’ll probably just keep the horns.”

I hate that this has become such an issue, but I’m not going to stand by and let keyboard warriors spread things that aren’t true.

Jwillin, you're still whining about one deer but you won't address that you didn't pay your part and brought all of your freeloading buddies like you hunting. You Florida hunters are some sorry sobs. I know because I've dealt with your kind before. Keep your sorry ass in Florida. Meet me at Sikes and kohns next time you come up and I will shut your bitch ass up personally.

So, was there an established rule about not being able to hunt "the rut" after you shoot your 2 bucks or did you create that "rule" on the fly. You sure want to talk a lot about that 1st.buck but don't want to answer that question. If that wasn't a written rule then that's what pisses people off. Not to mention you supposedly said you weren't going to hunt since you didn't help pay for the lease. Regardless of if you overseeded 9,000 food plots.

Let’s set things straight. While your over here posting pictures of his deer why don’t you go ahead and post that picture of the GIANT you shot off of the property 2-3 years back big bad John. OH WAIT and if I recall correctly it doesn’t meet the requirements you expect from your overpaying members. You have no clue on how to manage a property and got in over your head on it.

Here you go. When I shot my deer the rules were 3 1/2 yr old deer or better. My deer was 3 1/2 and I was a member in the club then, I wasn’t running the club then. Yes, when I took over the lease we changed the rule to 4 1/2 yr old. There was no question about that this past year.

Still wild that the “leader” of the club justifies shooting a deer the same size by saying it was in the rules at the time. If I were planning to run the club a few years later I probably wouldn’t shoot something that I later would criticize someone for. But that’s just what makes since I wouldn’t expect much less from you.

If this was in the Serious Forum, it would be 15 pages by now.
I have found it interesting that Jwill has neither confirmed nor denied his hunting and guest visits.

Exactly. That's what I'm waiting for. I wish it was in the serious forum. Maybe a moderator can move it for us and business will pick up.

The original reason of my posting wasn’t to argue over that one deer all day, but it can go on forever. It was 4 then, it’s 3 now. Oh well. But my point of posting was to show light to all the contradictory things that happened and seemed to get progressively worse as season rolled on.

Yeah that's why he lost 8 of his 12 members from last year. If it was such a great club, he wouldn't have to post here to fill his open spots. People need to be aware of this clown

Yeah, but you're from Cantonment. I used to live there also. Lower Bama basically.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.
