Hunted Arkansas last week and went on my first speck hunt. One of the funnest hunts I’ve ever been on if you ever get the chance I highly recommend!

Who did you hunt with? Or did you hunt public?

My Wife's cousin is part owners in a place in AR. They kill the hell out of them. He is trying to get me to come out in Feburary for snow geese.

Yea... well my suggestion would be....

Don't tell anyone.

We don't need the little Duck Commanders out there to catch on... They'll ruin that next.

That ship has sailed in my part of Louisiana. I’ve killed enough specs to sink a fairly large ship (notice my name on here). Uses to grab 4-5 decoys and old coyote call by PS Olt and kill a limit nearly every morning whether it was the rice fields or marsh. Now these guys with 200-300 full bodies and $300 calls on every levy. I’ve just about hung it up.

It’s the new pursuit. Just like the new wood duck chase because the rest of the ducks are not around.
It is interesting how water-fowling is morphing.

I’ve been killing specklebells since I could. It is a blast calling them in to your face and hammering then at 30yds. It’s a shame the number of specks that fell to my calls in the marsh and rice fields. Lots of fun to be had.

They are getting tougher to kill in arkansas. The early season isn’t helping. Add goose only guys and enclosed trailers everywhere now……they are acting nuts by December.

Yup

Killed 2 young ones yesterday. Gonna eat good. Spreads all over the place out there. Saw one full body spread in the thousands and no telling what that cost. They’re targeted all the time now and are wary to say the least.

I heard you’ve killed 1or 2🤣 I bet you could sink a battle ship with all the ones you’ve killed!!! Uncle John told me some stories😉

I like migration time up here. You can hear speckle belly's flying South all night.
I actually named a Speckle Belly call for a certain call company several years ago..
