This was actually not set up to catch hogs this time, but it did. I lowered the net to keep the deer from passing through as with any opening, no matter how small the deer were going under. I dropped the net to touch the ground, thinking the hogs when they returned could goin in and out, and then I'd set the net with the stakes. The hogs have disappeared for a month when I set the trap up, as I didn't get in the area quick enough to keep them around. They returned last night and with the rain the net got mud in it and became heavy, too heavy for the hogs to figure out how to get out. Regardless, 8 more caught. God Bless, David B.

That's a good lick. Especially for not trying too hard. Absolutely! The trying hard was already done by setting up the trap. It sure was a nice surprise. No hogs in this morning. I figured the suckling sow would have had more than 2 piglets, and was hoping the others would return. She may have only had 2 left from nature. God Bless, David B.

Ghawg, might I make a suggestion? Call Brunson Net & Supply in Foley….ask to speak with Steve. I ordered an 8ft by 63ft #60 nylon 1 7/8” mesh net with a 3/8” rope border. The net was $461 shipped to my house. I picked up the t-post, u-clamps, anchors, ratchet straps, other accessories at several other locations (local co-op, hardware store, online). Total cost of entire setup for a 30ft circumference trap was less than $800. I’ve been catching pins like a seasoned pro.
Note: I’m pretty sure a #42 nylon net would work just fine….It should only cost around $300 if you’re on a budget. I just went with the heavier duty net (i.e. #60).
As stated above, this net dimensions is for an entire net trap. If you want to purchase a net gate, Steve can make you any size you want. PM me if you have any questions. Hope this helps. Thank you for the contact and information.

Was looking at the net you used as a gate for your hog trap. Seems to work like the traps called "PigBrig". Please let me know what you are using and where you can find it. Thanks That modification is awesome! Where did you get the baseball netting?
eBay is where I got the netting - 10’ X 25’ heavy duty baseball netting- 2” nylon netting 1 7/8” #36 - 350 Lb That was the Highest rated lb I could find for a net, so doubling it should theoretically be 700lbs but it does make it heavier to have to go under and push through to get in the trap. NorthFork has a better solution, and it can be customized. If I had his information to begin with it would be a better netting gate. God Bless, David B.

Thank you for the contact and information. Rather than the u-bolts/muffler clamps, get the horizontal t-post mounts from TSC or Menards. Drill a hole in the end to fit the hook on your ratchet strap, no tools are needed when setting up the net. The mounts slips over the top of the post.

Wish I could claim it to be original. Local guy making knockoff Pig Brigs came up with it. I do use those brackets for camera mounts, drill a 1/4" hole on the end and attach a Mini-ballhead from Amazon. Have about $10 in the mount.
