One time I almost didn’t make it out of the tree in time when I had to poop. That’s about as dangerous as it’s been for me.

The scariest thing that ever happened to me concerning hunting was when Modoc 333 invited me to go with him one day.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

All my dangerous encounters were feral dogs or meth heads. I'll take them over a mountain lion any day lol.

A pack of coyotes circling me as I walked out after an evening hunt. A Ruger No1 is not what you want when 3-5 yotes are circling you

Tried to grab a doe by the ears one night tracking on a youth hunt with my dogs. I had done ran off and left the boy and his dad. All I had was a pocket knife I was gonna cut her throat with. She came alive when i grabbed her ears. Teeth were popping together as she chased me a few circles around some pine trees. Ended up going back the next morning and letting the kid finish it off.

Falling out of a tree stand and breaking your back is scary.
When I was a kid, like 5 years old, I got into a bad nest of yellow jackets. Those bastages like to have killed me.
When I was 15, I ran into a couple potheads preseason scouting. One had a snake charmer shotgun, the other a big old hoe. I had nothing. Thought I was dead.
One of em said he had pot planted and didn’t want it messed with. It scared the crap out of me.

Flash flooding in the swamps was the scariest thing I've ever been through hunting. Walked onto a peninsula, waded up to my knees off an island. My canoe wasn't tied off, and was worried about it being gone, then I would have been stranded on disappearing land.

I was smart enough to leave it a few feet up hill, but I always tie it to a tree before leaving now. Water is more powerful than any animal.

I had an Amacker Deer Thief treestand that the bottom half slid down the tree and the attach rope kept it with me. I was about 25 ft up sitting in the upper half with no bottom platform. I had to hang from the upper half and get the bottom worked up until I could stand on it.

I’ve always said running over a yellow jacket nest on a no cab tractor/dozer is about the most dangerous thing in the woods. You’ll hurt yourself trying to get away from em.

I was getting in an old shooting house on our place one morning 2 seasons ago, about 7’ high to the floor. I had snuck in with no light, eased the door open and got one leg in the shooting house. A hawk hit me straight in the chest and I fell flat on my back. Thankfully I had my backpack on with a jacket inside to help ease the fall. Only way I knew it was a hawk is somehow I landed on the damn thing and killed it. I’ll see if my brother still has the pic I sent after getting in after daylight. He didn’t believe me, so I had to send a pic of the hawk laying under the shooting house.

That shooting house is no longer there, and has been replaced with one that has windows.

Having a game warden shaking so bad that he could barely hold his pistol pointed at me. A month later an unarmed man was shot and killed by a game warden from the same place on wheeler wildlife refuge

I had an encounter with a full grown black bear in Wilcox county right at dark one time. Not really that dangerous but just a real uneasy feeling walking out in the pitch black dark with only a bow and a small flashlight and knowing that he was probably still close by.

I guess the most dangerous would be having a 185# 9pt charge me in a pine thicket. He was 16" wide but looked like 4 ft wide when he came charging at me with his head down like a charging bull. Believe it or not, a deer can cover 10 yards before you can even think about getting out of the way.
