I’m looking to talk to someone who has been in, or run, a club that has/had turkey only memberships. I have a club and we are going to offer turkey only memberships in the future so I want to get an idea of how others have done it in the past.

Please let me know if you have a few minutes where I can ask you a few questions. Feel free to comment here or send me a message.

I’ve been one to pay for turkey only memberships. It all depends on number of acres, number of hunters, number of turkeys, and number of dollars. When you can only kill 4 turkeys in 6 weeks of hunting, whether it’s 100 acres or 10000 acres, it wouldn’t be worth me paying more than $1000 to hunt. If you put 2 guys on 500 acres, chances are you won’t kill 8 birds every year for very long. If you have current members that also turkey hunt, better make sure they all agree to whatever you’re planning.

If you want to always win, never play anyone better than you!

I’d be interested in talking to you about leasing the turkey membership as an individual.
I have no interest in turkey memberships with folks I don’t know.

I’ve done it in the past with folks I know and it works out fine. Not so much with folks who you don’t know.

Feel free to pm me. I’ll respond with my phone number but I’m out the country right now.

I’m sure your inbox is already flooded …

Sale the rights to 1 person only. Charge a bunch to make it worth it to you and the leasee will pay more knowing he and whoever he brings with him are the only ones hunting the property.

This is really the best way, unless there are a couple like minded hunters who know each other that may want to split it. Call me! lol.

We had some turkey only guys. They left. I'll probably be the only turkey hunter next year. I was in a club that had turkey only and they paid same rate as deer Hunter's.

If you don't have any regular members that turkey hunt, leasing it to one individual would be best. My club had one turkey only membership on 3300 acres but we had 2 members that turkey hunted also. We charged $800 per year. He became a regular member after 2 years.Worked out well for us.
