I had yellow hickory nuts dropping in July. I'm expecting the same with acorns. I think the dry summer in north Bama is gonna cause a bad mast crop. Not a dry Summer in Jackson Co. Nope. Been as wet of a year, so far, as I can remember. We’ve had so much rain, in fact, that our farmer was telling me that he was impressed with the bean crop on our farm. Most years farmers are telling me how we need rain and ain’t got no crop. Lol It was pretty dry up my way April-July we were talking about the corn twisting first of July.

Sawtooths here are dropping by the ton as normal. Got more deer sightings so far than ever before.

Sawtooths here are dropping by the ton as normal. Got more deer sightings so far than ever before. A lot of folks hate on Sawtooths because they’re non-native. I think they are an excellent choice for Alabama. They start dropping just about the time fawns hit the ground and the does can benefit from them.
"Cull" is just another four letter word...
