Looking at getting a pair of solid pants in like a green or olive color for Turkey hunting and bow season. Looking forward recommendations on something lightweight and if there’s a color y’all like best

While I don’t hunt in them, the Eddie Bauer pro guide pant is as comfortable of a pant as you will wear. I have 5 different colors of them and the olive green ones (now they make a camo pair) you could absolutely hunt in. They are lightweight and use the stretch material and have the DWR finish to repel water. I don’t know how good they would do in briars but I wear them around the house working and love them. You can catch them on sale for about $50 on Moosejaw. You will not be disappointed in them.

I’m picky with my stuff as I am rough on my turkey equipment…that said, I used the browning bottomland pants I got for cheap and they held up well this year. I cut the tues out at the bottom of the pantleg and they worked great. Ol tom lasted 1.5 seasons and weren’t as comfy.

2nd on the Browning pants. You can search and find them for $29 or less and yes they are cotton, but they have held up well for me and I go through my share of briars in Bama and IN.
Thought about ordering a pair of the Dave Owen (Pinhoti endorsed) Ol tom pants with knee pads and synthetic seat, but just seems like they would be hot as $h1t?

Throw this out there... I wear jeans and shorts turkey hunting now. A few years ago, I went exclusively to a leafy suit. Early season, I wear a comfortable pair of my work pants along with a merino wool long sleeve shirt. As the season goes along, I progress to breathable shorts and a sleeveless dri-fit shirt. Leafy suit has held up great for me and I'm hard on it.

I hunt in pants like that. Here are some good choices:

1. Prana Zion Stretch Pants- These pants are excellent, probably my favorite.
2. Outdoor Research Ferrosi Pants- These are probably my second favorite. These are the lightest of the group.
3. Kuiu Attack Pant- These are hard to beat, but they come in tied at second with the OR Ferrosi's. They are too expensive, though.
4. First Lite Corrugate Guide Pants- These are probably the most comfortable pants I have ever worn, but they are too expensive and not that much more comfortable than the 3 listed above them.
5. Eddie Bauer Guide Pants- I don't have these, but I have heard great things about them.

A good place to get all those is at geartrade.com. Most of the stuff on that site is used gear, and some pants are very expensive. But I got a pair of the Outdoor Research pants for 30 bucks on there. Nothing is wrong with them. You can always find Prana on there, usually around $35 to $50. The Prana pants are going to run around 80 bucks if you get them elsewhere. You can find them much cheaper on geartrade.com or wait for a sale, but they are worth 80 bucks if you just have to have them. I would not hesitate to buy a pair of used Prana's from gear trade, but I didn't know about the site until after I had already stocked up.

My buddy always hunted in his Ups pants before work, I never wore them because I hated that monkey suit...

Hard to beat the Kuiu Attack pants. Only used them one deer/turkey season but they seem to be very durable. So far they are the best pants I’ve ever owned. I was able to get some on sale but they are pricey.

Pretty much the same thing I'm doing. Works great!

I agree with that. I have also been impressed with the comfort of my First Lite Corrugate Guide Pants, but I had some issues with pilling where little bits of the material sort of ball up. I got a little electric fabric shaver thingy and took care of it. But if I pay that kind of money for pants, I don't think I should have to do that. I won't buy anymore of their stuff. I like KUIU's shirts, too. They are somewhat reasonably priced for the synthetic and merino, and you can usually find them on sale a couple of times a year.

I'd take the Kuiu over your 1 and 2 picks simply due to the pockets... Too much junk to run around with elk hunting lol. They all hike well though.
Oh, BTW Prana does a military discount

Khaki is a great pattern for anywhere, they actually appear differently in different light, brush, timber.

The Kuiu Attacks are the best and most comfortable hunting pants I’ve ever owned.

Kuiu Attacks and Kutanas. For bow and turkey season, I'd recommend the Kutanas as they are lighter and cooler than the Attacks. I've worn them a ton the past 3 years and zero complaints. Just size up.

After all this talk, I was in my closet going through all my pants. LOL. You are correct about the pockets. I have never elk hunted, but I imagine someone would probably have at least as much crap as a turkey hunter, maybe even more. My turkey vest finished its 31st season this spring. It is sort of tied, sewed, and taped together, but it is perfect for me. I don't need quite as many pockets, but I do like the option to stuff things in cargo pockets if I have to move, which I sometimes need to do.

The Prana pants could be a good pant if they would fix some glaring issues. Sadly they don’t care about them, so they’ll stay subpar. I won’t be buying anymore of them.

What issues did you have? I haven't had any with the ones I have.

I have a pair of Kuhl olive green pants that fit that description( $60-70). They are made in light or heavy weight versions.
