For those of you who have bowhunted in Missouri, is the Non-Resident Archer's Hunting Permit the only thing needed?

There's no other "hunting license" to go along with the permit, or some kind of special "bow hunting thing" in addition?

One permit -- the Non-Resident Archer's Hunting Permit -- and that's it?

I happened to also notice if you want to hunt small game, there is a small game permit. I'm assuming that's separate from a bowhunting permit. I cannot find anything in the License area online that says "License, plus bowhunting permit" as in some other states.

Just curious. Thanks.

only need the tags buddy I think its a buck and doe tag that comes with it. The tags are good except for the two weeks of rifle season. They make you buy another one for that one, then after that two weeks your tags are good

Thanks very much. I emailed MDOC and they said the same. Nice to see a state have a simple licensing-permit system without a lot of hoops or stupid add-ons to generate money.

I'm going to be in the Branson area when the season opens. Just considering options. I have no idea about public land, or even where to piddle in that area. grin

Get the Missouri Game and Fish App. It will make your life much easier. You can buy your license/permit through the app.

Archery tags are good for 2 bucks and two turkey. But only one buck can be taken prior to the end of rifle season.

The app makes things easy.

Unless Im hunting over a bean field you cant catch me bow hunting before mid october. I dont like 90+ degree deer hunting.

Clem, I could give you a couple places, but like I said I wouldnt be hunting the beginning of the season. Especially south of I-70. I used to do that some.
