Got any 6.5 Swede’s on the rack? Also, anything chambered in 45ACP instantly makes this Patriot smile.

Hot day but can't stay inside forever. Here are the German WWII .32 and .380 pistols: top row L-R, Walther PP .32, Astra 600 .380, Mauser HSC .32, Sauer 38H .32, bottom row Ortgies .32, Mauser 34 ,32, Walther PPK .380. Good shooters all. Some a little ammo sensitive but when using factory FMJ they fired very well. Rifles next, 100yds DSA FAL, Austrian build. .308 Shooting my reloads. First ten Adjusted my point of aim. 1900 M96 Swedish Mauser. 6.5 Swedish, this rifle is reall a sweet shooter. Were used by the Finns in the Winter War. This is a German Oberndorf manufacture. Open sights and old eyes don't do well together. Brought this Vietnam bring back SKS but didn't shoot it - just too damn hot. Great day, shot a pile of ammo, got to experience some cool old guns, hope ya'll like the photos.

Daaaang excellent!!! Great day thanks for sharing. Welcome - You asked for the FAL, if I had to choose between an FAL or M1A the FAL most likely would win. Would be a very difficult choice. Next time out I'll take the FAL and my M1A and shoot them side by side. Both are really solid old school battle rifles with a lot of combat time.

20' - these are all 70 plus years old. So am I. They are all very accurate well made little shooters. Each one is unique and is mechanically different but once you get it figured out it is a very good shooter. Some are striker, some hammer, some internal hammer, some have a squeeze safety, some have a decocker, sights are all different, triggers all different. The best shooter was the Walther PP. Next would be the Sauer 38H. From then on they would be difficult to place. The Mauser 34 is a very fine little pistol as is the Ortiges and the Astra 600.

What a great way to spend the day, thanks for sharing RK! I’ve been surrounded by a bunch of passive aggressive narcissists all day. God bless family and good riddance til next summer

I will say this, your trips to the range never disappoint! I love seeing all the pistols you put up on here. Glad ya'll enjoy them. They need to be brought out and fired. Have to be careful with them due to age and such but if maintained and proper care taken they can safely be fired. One thing to pay attention to with old guns are the magazines. The lips will spread, springs weaken, and they can collect a lot of trash and build up. They need to be disassembled, cleaned, and closely examined for wear. If the spring is weak or the follower dragging then the gun will have feeding problems.

Old navy guy at the range was deadly with his PP in .32acp course Pappy would go through lots of Win 231. Helped him set his Dillon 650 up he compared it to his first leave after payday.
Only hits count.

think that Swede looks familiar!
And "kid" now has the FAL I got from you. He is thrilled!
We need to come see you, AND go shoot together!
PS: He is back from EU for awhile! Come on by when you can. The M96 is a great shooter and so is the FAL.

They are very fine shooting and accurate little guns. You should have seen me trying to remember how to disassemble and clean them. Got through all of them without help but the Ortiges. had to look that one up. Odd one indeed. Its like the Mauser M34 in that the barrel is removed.

Looks like a great day. Nothing like the old military weapons and especially getting to shoot them. They are very addicting and unfortunately getting harder to acquire. Reminds me I need to get some of mine out this weekend .

Reminds me I need to get some of mine out this weekend . Thanks for the kind words. Planning the next trip out now. I checked my ammo and have an indecent amount for M1 Carbine and Garand. They will be the next ones out. The old military guns are still out there but have become stupid expensive and ammo is just as bad. If I didn't reload for all of them their range time would be very limited. Some I don't shoot much because of age and repair parts availability. And its not like I'll be doing this much longer anyway.
