This is a good podcast that truly shows what ground nesting birds are up against. The numbers Casey mentions on small properties is eye opening. If you can’t watch the entire podcast he covers the meat and potatoes fairly quickly in the first 10 to 15 minutes. https://youtu.be/ys9Gc15FrpA

I find this strikingly funny Howard do you care to elaborate on what is striking funny to you? He’s your guy and a dang good trapper from what I’ve seen!

What does he bait with? I listened to bits of it. Keep in mind any kind of cat food in our climate is going to be susceptible to ants. I’ve had my best luck with tripe grip feed and fish oil. If you fry fish strain the oil and save it. Put it in a squirt bottle and squirt some around you sets. The tripe gripe feed has a sweet roasted smell the coons and possums like and the ants don’t mess with it as bad. The cat food will work when it’s cold so it’s definitely a good option.

^^^* Sounds like u getn the hang of it. 😀. Aunts kill u w wrong bait when it hot
One thing Casey doing that I heard other experts say - get your trap numbers up - I been trapping w way too few traps on my 256. He was using large number on 20 acres field and he never catches 20 coons n 1 nite if he only got 5 traps set and he setting where they travel
