We recently burned a small 4 acre block in front of one of our camps. There was an old power pole lying in the edge of the burned block and the other day as I was driving up I noticed something in the end of it. It was a Browning game camera that had pics on the card from 12/2016-2/2017. It was placed to monitor traffic and forgot about. I've drove past it dozens of times in the past year and never noticed it.
Don't underestimate a hollow log, etc as a good place to hide a camera...
"Cull" is just another four letter word...

Hey - put camera up high and aim down - I hav multiple cameras - about 5-6 on road - 2-3 cheap ones and 2 good cell cameras. Guess what - if they get in front of the cell camera - u should hav them instantly - don’t put it wher it easy to see - use new spot now

Cell cams are a game changer. Put them up high. Put a dead cam low where they will walk in front of the hidden cell camera. I just bought 4 Muddy 14 cameras from academy. $35 a piece. Not great by no means, but I’m happy so far. I hope you get them. So let me wrap my head around this. You save old non performing game cams for deterrence decoys ? Knowing that the wiley pine goats will see them and go around ? You are at another level man.

You put a old non working one out as bait. Put the cellular camera elevated, looking down at the bait camera. Hopefully the cell cam will catch and send you picture of your trespassers, without being noticed or stolen first.

They are to worried about getting the sd card or stealing the camera off the tree to even think to look up and find the one that’s watching them

Not great by no means, but I’m happy so far. I hope you get them. That is a good idea. A couple of cheapie walmart tasco cams ought to work. It just aggravates me. This was the first field I did in whitetail clover, because I can't get my tractor down into it, so I wanted something I didn't have to replant. It's hard enough to try to get down to it to spray it, cut it, fertilize and lime it.
