For the last 2 weeks my bait has been stollen and the traps have been laying on the ground on their side not triggered. What is going on, or is this normal?? I have been leaving them in the same places for about 2.5 months now.

Is the bait under the trigger gone as well?

Probably a dog or a fox......Try sticking a little piece of foam onto the trigger and see if you can anchor the trap better in some more solid dirt and see what happens. If its a coon or possum that foam will get 'em when they reach their hand in....Also, hit your trigger lightly with a little fine grit sandpaper and then spray a dab of cooking spray on it for lubrication......That makes the trigger work smoother.

Rats /mice?

They'll just clean out the trap without setting it off but not pull it out of the ground.....There's one on my trap line that has got to have a nest somewhere with a pound or two of cat food stashed away in it.....

No kidding cnc!!!?? I filed it with a flat file but I’ll try sandpaper this time and cooking spray.. yes all the bait is gone when the trap is pulled up out of the dirt but not when it’s still sticking the ground. I always clean it out and set it off I tried corn and a big marshmallow this time
