I had a good day of archery Saturday. I went to Pensacola, Florida for the IBO compound state championship and world qualifier. It was the first time I've shot IBO since 2014. For those that don't do archery, in all of the IBO tournaments you have to guess how far each target is, there are no known distance classes. Also IBO scores the bonus rings as 11 points instead of 12 so it's harder to make up points for 8's or 5's. I shot the mens senior release class which is a 45 yard max distance. I was really happy with the way I judged yardage and shot on all but the last target. On the last target it had started to rain and I hurriedly judged it, which I was off by 3 yards, and then made a rushed shot that resulted in my only 5 of the day. At the end of the day I am the Florida state champion in mens senior release.

Life's pulled me away from the hobby I enjoyed. I think I'll find a 3D shoot soon. It's been about 14 years since I shot one.

I miss it at times. I retired from it in 2013 because of my back.
