Had four blue wing teal come into the pond this morning. Was the first time I’ve seen full plume drakes. Whew we then things are pretty. Big difference from September colors.

Yeah, we need a special spring season so we can get one for the wall (legally)!

Was tempting but didn’t know a discreet taxidermist.

Last several years I have seen anywhere from 20 to 100+ plus birds on Neely this time of year. Good color on them too. I guess they were headed back north, dunno. Always seemed odd to me though seeing them t his time of year.

Just say you killed him last weekend of January and has been sitting in freezer since...

The color these had was night and day different from how they look during season. Was cool to just watch them none the less.

I have a duck hole full of those jokers right now. Have a pair of mallards and a bunch of woodies. They’re really looking good in their breeding plumage.

Been seeing a few on our farm ponds passing through going north I guess . Also think we have a pair that may be nesting.

I’ve killed full plumed birds in Texas. That’s where I would say they came from wink
