I sat in a spot just as you described, this afternoon. Saw 11 deer. You need to be hunting that area, especially now during the rut.

Usually a mixture of Arsenal, Roundup and Escort I think. Not positive on the Escort. Triclopyr is another component that may be in the mix. The vegetation determines what and how much

Worst part is it’s soil active so any food plots you plant after they sprayed will most likely not do well either.

Probably not. If they sprayed this summer they’ll plant this season. Otherwise they’ll plant year one then release spray with Arsenal (imazapyr) only within the next couple of years to release the pines from hardwood competition. Only time I’ve seen pre and post planting spraying is when they didn’t get a good kill on the initial spray job.

I would find a place far away from the spraying to hunt. Think about it, do you really want to eat those deer right now. Maybe come back in a couple of years after the spraying stops. The residue will be there for a while. Not sure how long , but stay away from areas and do not breathe those chemicals for a while. There should be warnings put up at the gates. It can make you sick, especially if you already have a condition. Maybe see if the company you lease from can burn from now on. I really hope you are being sarcastic

You must hunt in a hole far away from anything if you don’t think you’ve eaten a deer that hasn’t had some type chemical in it’s system. Every timber company sprays some 2-3 times in a pine plantations life cycle. If you can find me a timber company that burns and has land available at a reasonable rate let me know.
