It does look great, and that's the standard maple? Did you stain the inside that doesn't show? I believe Kibler doesn't so it will be period correct.
' Yes, standard grade stock. Whatever stain made it into the inlets was unintentional. I did hit the barrel channel with a light coat before I started the exterior just to get a feel of the color. Not overly concerned with period correctness.

Update... got the trigger guard, butt plate, rear sight, and all the bolt/screw heads browned this weekend. Barrel and ramrod pipes are left.
You gonna pull them pistols, or whistle Dixie?
