It's a great buck, but 171" is generous.

I have a main frame 9 pt on my wall with kickers on his G2's. The G2's measure 11" & 12 " He gross scores 139.

No, it's not my deer. Lots and lots of scoring practice and studying, sir. Try this trick for your own practice. Measure your own fingers, comparing to the gentleman's in the picture above. Then, you'll be able to get some close measurements from the antlers he is holding as you "fill out" a score-sheet on him. Of course, you'll have to do some educated guesswork in places, but you'll be able to see quickly where this deer gets his inches. We're all learning, so glad you asked. Check out the 170+ buck video just posted on Alabama Whitetail Records Facebook page. Similar frame and from video most guys would underestimate that buck. Thanks!!

I utilize the deers ears and every which a way I try it’s no where near 170. Maybe its just the picture

From that picture, it is a little blurry around the middle, I don't see any deductions and the length on those tines, off the chart. No scorer, but by what I have been seeing over the years I would say at least 181 B&C if no deductions. The light colored rack makes it look more impressive. I would say it was not a swamp deer, but more of a mix between sandy area and clay soil?

THAT deer is WAY over 150. Long tines, long beams=high score. I bet it is 170

It’s interesting to me Troy that hunters always doubt scores when a buck of this magnitude is killed. So this Doctor, that obviously pays a lot of money to hunt where he does, just half ass guessed at the score and then Outdoor Alabama ran with it. Okay.
