Great way to start out your aldeer adventure. Personally, I like pellet grills, but they ain't a smoker. For butts, ribs, and anything else that requires time - use a real smoker. Burgers dogs ,chicken... pellet grills are fine.

Ain’t nothing wrong with a pellet grill. I love mine. I have a Pit Boss and I love it.

My Pitboss was easy peasy and made consistently great ribs and brisket. Low and slow is very easy to accomplish. I didn’t care much for the grilling aspect of it making hamburgers etc because of the flare ups.
Kamodos smoke at a higher temp so they do hotter and faster. Grilling is easier since flare ups are no big deal.
Stick burners and pits make the best pulled pork but you have to babysit the fire. You can grill and or smoke anything but they’re more work.
Funny thing, I watched a group of competition BBQ guys use Traegers at duck camp to cook their foods. I’m talking the BIG name guys so they seem to like east peasy too!
