You can’t kill what you don’t have.

You can’t kill what you don’t have. Nope...I just get tired of seeing buddies kill heavy 8s that r old n mature here that'll score 120s then go up north n kill younger deer that'll score more n be more happy...

Kinda like hooking up with women. You hook up with an older, heavy racked, potbellied mature one and a younger, bigger racked hot one. Which one are you going to brag about to your buddies? Same for her, she ain't gonna brag about four inches but she'll brag about ten. Like all things related, it's about the inches and what makes you happy.

I think most folks would be happier if they didn't post every deer the killed on social media. Too many folks are thinking about what someone else is going to think every time they pull the trigger. I hunt for myself and don't care what anybody else thinks (except maybe the game warden).
May the sound of hounds never die!

I think if grown men would stick to killing mature bucks the world would be a better place. I have friends who will kill a spike or a two year old and put it on social media. Those friends have never been invited to hunt with my. By the time a deer is 3 years old you should know if he has the potential to be special. In my experience the percentage of deer that have the potential to be a 130 class deer is pretty low. But, to each his own.

Well it's all a balance I used to be a lot more selective because meat wasn't a priority but last few years I have to kill a small buck because chances of me killing 3 good uns r pretty slim...only done it twice my whole life..when I had grocery store meat wasn't factor....we can't afford to shoot does here...but if I see a nice 2 yr old I'll usually let him walk I've only let a handful of 3yr old walk because of hoping to kill the running buddy

I said for a long time if you wanna kill a biggun you gotta hunt where bigguns live.but a biggun is subjective to not only what lives there but what the one on the trigger thinks a biggun is. The 9 point I killed a couple weeks is a nice deer not a giant but he was the best deer on that property so in my mind he was a goodun Yessir! I’m always gonna shoot what makes me happy and I want everyone else to do the same! If you shoot one be proud of it and don’t worry what anyone else thinks

I’ve had access to land where you could easily, without much effort kill a 125 to 140 inch deer every year. Now, I only have land with a few deer and none I would even mount. So, I shoot the first decent deer I see that I want, whether it be a 6, 7, or 8 and then I move on. Alabama is not ever going to have big deer everywhere, and it’s not ever going to have deer quantity again under the current management plan. The best thing to do is shoot what you want and be happy about it and move on. Then hope it doesn’t get worse next year.

Theres some years around here a 2yo 100inch buck is a trophy and youll work to find one in the daylight. Now, if we could kill them at night, it would be a different story
