I have 5 points for the 2022 Iowa draw. I’m interested in the right opportunity there to hunt the archery season. I would entertain the right outfitter but not my preference. If anyone else on here has at least 5 points for the 2022 draw and interested in teaming up on a lease please let me know via PM.

I’m also interested Kansas and NW to North Central Oklahoma.

If you or your group have the right opportunity and looking for the right guy please PM me. If you know of an opportunity or solid contact for either of these states please PM me.

Thanks!!
Mike

Mike, there’s a guy that sends me emails every year after I buy turkey tags. His name is Reed with big buck down outfitters of southeast Iowa. Not sure which zone you are applying for, but I’ll be glad to forward you one of these emails if you want it. Shoot me a pm if so.

Joe is this an outfitter you have personal experience with our just one that has randomly contacted you based off your tag purchase? I typically avoid outfitters for whitetail at all cost due to the simple fact most are crooks!! Most of their business models are built on running as many folks through their operation as possible. In most cases public land is a better option than booking with an outfitter. The only way I would consider an outfitter is via a recommendation of first hand experience that did not experience what I have outlined above. To hunt Iowa is very time consuming as referenced above 5 years for points. Also expensive once you can draw as I will have $250 in points and $600+ for tags and license. This is one state I want to ensure I set myself up for best opportunity I can come across.

No buddy I don’t know anything about him. I only hunt public land. Good luck with your hunt.

I’ve got 5 points myself. I’d be interested in going in with you on something if you needed another person. My best friend went this year and hunted public for 2 weeks and didn’t have to deal with a terrible amount of people. I’ve also been looking around on the hunting lease network and base camp leasing. You can find several good looking properties on there but I’d rather come across a private individual myself and not go thru a website.

Good deal. I will let you know if I come across something worth looking into further. I have thought about doing public land but have zero experience with public in that state. I know THP makes it look like public would not be a bad option on their videos.

Ive got a ton of information on zone 6. Id prefer to go to zone 5 myself if I was going for public just because there’s more of it.

Me and buddy of mine also have 5 points and would be interested in options. We were going to go public when we go but if we could find the right private piece that could work. We’ve been doing Oklahoma/Kansas/Nebraska lately.

I got a buddy who hunted public in Iowa when he finally drew tags. He passed on several 140-150 deer and let an arrow fly on one over 200”. Have no idea where he was though.

I'm not opposed to doing public as I know it can be good. My only issue at this point, it's only me so it's not my preference to do a solo public land hunt. If I could find a group that wanted to work together on the planning etc then that would be more appealing to me.

I have made contact with a local in Iowa that said he could help find what I'm looking for. We shall see if anything comes of that.

I hunt with a great outfitter in SE Kansas. He's not the type of outfitter you mentioned.

Feel free to ask Randy about him. He took Jackson out there for a few youth hunts.

I'd be interested in KS or OK hunt. I have enough KS points to go wherever. Probably couldn't get into zone 4 or 5 in IA, only have 3 pts. So, if you need another one, let me know. I'd love to find a good spot in unit 15 or 16 in KS.
