well in the last couple of days ive done a few little mods to my 10/22. i put a volquartsen target hammer and spring in it which brought the trigger from 6 1/2 -7lbs to about 2 3/4 - 3lbs. a huge difference! i also added a volquartsen automatic bolt release while i was at it. i put a Kidd bolt buffer in it as well. i also put a tactical solutions extended magazine release on it. all of the above took about 20 mins to do so i can say that it was a pretty simple task.

i also oredered a couple of extra mags and an alangator to put them in grin

here are a few pics of it although most of the work is inside the gun so all you can really see is the extended mag release and the alangator. other than that she looks the same...

Good parts you installed on her. I like the TriMag setup too. Got a few myself.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

How much was the hammer & spring? I would like something like that on my 10/22 if I can put it in without breaking it smile

i think it was 45.00 for the hammer kit and an automatic bolt release. it was way to easy to do!

also done a little scope swapping around and got a bushnell elite 3200 3-9x40 stainless scope for it.

I ordered another alangator and an extra magazine so i'll have 2 trimags. also ordered a stainless barrel band as well...

these little guns are a blast to tinker around with!

it's probably the best mod so far. my biggest complaint about the rifle was the sloppy trigger and the heavy trigger pull. that took care of both.

what other mods do you recommend?

I have the same hammer, then put in a KIDD trigger (with overtravel set screw) and charging handle. Added a tuffer-buffer bolt buffer pin to quiet down the action along with .001 oversized receiver pins so they won't fall out during cleaning. Also have a green hogue overmold stock and TacSol SB-X barrel. Next up is polishing the bolt and receiver interface points. I haven't decided on which hi-cap mags or Tri-mags to go with.

i really like the tri-mag set up. i have 2 of them. i also have 2 pro-mag 32rd banana clips that snap together. they're pretty cool but are so long that they really get in the way.

in the future i really want to add an overmold stock and a tactical solutions 16.5" barrel.

You're gonna notice less friction when cocking the weapon. Great choice of upgrade part.

Thanks Wiley. I was kinda wondering if it would make that much difference. From everything I read it makes a big difference.

A little of topic but, one of the best things I bought for my 10/22 was a heavy duty 2 plate spinner target from BPS. Out to about 125yd you can see where the bullet hit the plate, touch it up with a rattle can as necessary.
