My boy missed a 3 point yesterday afternoon at 150 yards. We went to a different place this afternoon where he would have a closer shot. We saw 5 deer but he just couldn’t get on any of them in time for a shot. It’s tough trying to get a kid on a dumb deer.

Got one this evening. 6 year olds first deer.

Well me and my son had one of those Well Damn moments. The big bull spike that is older than dirt about 180-200lbs comes in at 4:15 faces us for five minutes never turning to give a broad side shot. My little man was begging to shoot him facing us I wouldn’t let him and about the time I thought he was gonna turn broadside he turns around and walks away. We shall try again tomorrow

Just didn’t want to by lumber with prices like they are. Had the old garage doors laying around. Cut them from 10ft down to 8ft.
Really ended up being a pain and would have been easier to use all wood. I still got to figure out what I’m gonna do with the windows. Probably leave 2 in each side stationary and rig 2 to open and close somehow. Super rugged terrain in there. Don’t know how many times I slipped working on that bank.

Pretty view of valley on that side. Not really hunt able but I may put a 3x5 window in that side at some point just for view
