I just picked it up and and will hopefully get it installed in the next couple weekends. It has the built in mega. Any tips /advice for me?I haven’t even gotten it out of the box yet, so I’m not even sure what all it will do. I will be using it pretty much for crappie fishing brush piles on eufaula and maybe trolling a little in the spring.

I would work on getting familiar with the remote control functions, especially if I was planning on trolling. You have the ability to repeat a previous track or stay on a selected contour line.

It came with a white "puck" that you'll install somewhere on the boat. You'll have to buy another, different one, to show your boat position on the map on the depth finder when you're sitting still, or moving slowly. If you don't add that puck, the boat icon won't reliably show up on the graph. It's been so long since I bought one, that I'll have to let someone else tell you what it's called. I think it's the heading sensor but not 100% sure. I have to use one with my Ulterra and I'm assuming you do with the Ultrex as well. The built in Mega ducer is awesome. I'm running an older Ulterra that doesn't have the built in Mega, but when I bought my boat it had a new Ultrex on it with it and my front graph had never been so clear.

That white puck is the gps antenna. Orientation during installation is key to getting accurate boat presentation on your graph.

There's one that comes with the TM and there's another one that's an add on. My graph had the "circle of death" without the heading sensor.

Here’s the one Fur is referring to. It will show the direction your boat is pointing, even when sitting still. It’s a must have IMO.

My boat only has one. It’s installed right beside the TM. I’ve seen them all over boats from next to TM to beside console to the transom.

Yep, that's it. I didn't even know they made such a thing, thinking surely that I didn't need anything else with a $2300 trolling motor. I fished without it for the first spring. I'd get furious.
