I haven’t seen them before this season but I shot my field yesterday in Lee county and we had probably 25 around the field all afternoon. They would walk by like 15 feet from us while we were shooting and not be scared at all. Have y’all been seeing them like this?

Normally only see them near cut overs.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

They are tiny about half the size of a morning dove. I’ve only seen them 3 times in my life. All in cutovers.

Have some spotted spurge in a flower bed near my back door. Had to just about kick a ground dove out of my way yesterday.

"Cull" is just another four letter word...

I've seen a lot his year at my house in Pace, Fl. Never noticed them before. I thought they were baby mourning doves until I looked them up. Not very much meat on one of those little critters. I guess they count toward your limit.

We always called them sand doves. They don't act like regular doves

Illegal to shoot. You'll get a ticket if you have one in your bag. Watched a guy next to me in a dove field let his 12-13 year old son ground blast a couple that kept lighting around them in a millet field. Later in the afternoon, Mr Green Jeans showed up to check the field and he wrote them a ticket for the two ground doves that they had. GW told them it was their responsibility to be able to tell the difference and shoot only the birds that are in season and the only legal doves were mourning and white-wing.

You can also kill all the collared doves you want.

If you do the things you need to do when you need to do them then someday you can do the things you want to do when you want to do them.

Because they're a non native species, not protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.

We have a pair in the back yard we feed. That's the only ones I've ever seen other than close to the coast. There's a bunch on St. George Island.
