I'm looking to add a couple of apple trees this year. Based on your experience, what variety would you recommend to satisfy these criteria-

Hardy tree,
Fruit taste & size,
Time to begin harvesting fruit, and
Best vendor to purchase from.

Many thanks,

I get my trees from Stark Bros. 1 year free replacement. They also have pack deals so you can buy trees that get ripe different times in the Fall.

Second Starks. Enterprise, Liberty. GoldRush and Arkansas Black are about as hardy and disease resistant as they come.

If you really want to get into apples id suggest looking at threecreekorchard.com They show a ton of heirloom variety with its characteristics , ripen time etc.

Also southern cultered orchard just over in mississipi sales some nice non run of the mill southern variety. They are on Fb or larrystephenson@att.net Or 662-515-4112

If you want run of the mill... north alabama nursery in cullman has about 15 variety of apples....6 ft trees are $10 ea
