I have a coyote right by the house I been wanting gone. I had a chicken die the other day. I tied it to a plum tree at the base and set 2 traps on it. I walk up just a minute ago and the chicken is moved and some feathers around. I get excited. Wait a minute. Where’s the perp????? Both traps were gone. I had them staked down with a foot long bolt that I had to hammer in and I can hardly get out normally. What could have pulled them??? Coon hunter trespassing maybe? Giant dog?
Don't blame me for your bad decision-

Coyote can be strong if it’s a big male I’ve had them pull a 18” cable and anchor out of the ground 12” isn’t much for a struggling coyote
When I need expert advice I tend to talk to myself The older I get the better I used to be

I would say definitely pulled out. I quit using stakes on coons because I lost several traps and stakes. I had a coon pull one of those screw in anchors for a dog not long ago. Luckily he didn’t go very far. I only use cable around a tree now.

Heck yeah! There’s no way I would trust those bolts with a dog. I know for a fact a coon can work them out in most soils.
