I've had an egg for years. I rarely use it. I'm not one of those guys that enjoys cooking. I don't mind it, but it's not something that I want to do. One reason that I don't use my egg more often is it takes 30 minutes to get it ready to cook on. I think I'd use a pellet grill as long as they get up to cooking temp quicker. I hate propane grills, but I have propane patience. Who has experience with both?

I have had my Egg for ten years and love it. It has never taken more than 10 minutes to get it ready to cook, the hotter cooks are the quickest to get up to temp. I cooked some ribs last week, stayed at 250 the whole time and only opened the lid once to wrap them the last hour! Cooks great steaks and only turn twice..

I have run em both. I'm nearly all komodo now. Just smokes, tastes and cooks better for my liking. But I still see the appeal to a pellet grill. They are quicker.

I've got an egg and a Traeger Timberline. To me the Traeger is like cooking in an oven. It doesn't give you the good smoky flavor that any charcoal grill does. I've got an oven in the air conditioned house, so the Traeger gets very little use. I use the egg 2-3 times a week

I had a green egg. Went to a pitboss after egg wouldn’t honor their warranty. Went to a KJ with all the bells and whistles and so like it

When it comes to good smoked food the pellet wins in my opinion. Grilling etc for the KJ.

You need electricity for the pellet so there is that

What’s funny I get to hunt in AR with a group of guys that BBQ for a living have 8-10 pellet grills. All treager from the professional line since Kevin also sells for them. The guys I’m mentioning are the guys you see in TV and are the winningest BBQers on the circuit. Tuffy is one of the guys.

My next purchase will be a higher end pellet either a Yoder or a Fast Eddie. The Yoder has my attention with grill mates for steaks and burgers.

Don't have a pellet. Had the primo going in 20 min tonight, had time to open a beer and chat with the bride while we prepped the rest of the meal.

I've never thought it took too long.

We've got an egg, an old school cast iron flattop and a pellet smoker at the camp. All get used. I have a gas weber, a blackstone and a pellet smoker here at the house. All get used.

I have 2 eggs and a traegar. The egg makes it smokier but is far harder to use. The traegar is so easy a child can cook on it. It’s the crock pot of smokers. Mine has WiFi and let’s you monitor snd control your cook from anywhere. Pellet grill is by far the easiest. Hit 3 buttons and walk away. Come back when it alerts your phone it’s time to cook. Usually around 10 mins

If you spend about 150 bucks and get the pit viper with then fan motor it'll turn your egg into a smoking oven. Set it and walk away. Only catch is getting the fire started right. Don't dump a lot of burning coals in on the front end.

Light your coals, then put a leaf blower on idle speed at the bottom vent. It'll be as hot as you want it in 1-2 minutes.

There is no comparison to the taste of food from a ceramic grill vs food from a pellet grill. Brother has a pellet grill...might as well just fire up the oven.

Have you tried Google?

I think that's what I'm gonna do.

I bought an Egg when they first came out, cooked lots of meals on it. Bought a Pit Boss pellet smoker a year ago. Cook on the Pit Boss weekly, hardly touch the Egg anymore and haven’t cooked on my stick smoker in quite a while.

This, I keep a small battery powered leaf blower by my egg.
