I know this is a beaten to death 570 duzen times topic. However, looking for opinions on the rage hypodermic no collar. I’ve always been a fixed blade guy. Muzzy, G5, thunderhead, slick trick etc. I’m inquiring because I wasn’t sure how reliable the no collar are compared to ones with the shock collar. I’m leaning towards mechanical because of how hard the wind blows here and looking to eliminate wind interference as much as possible. Shots will be 50 yds at most.

I personally have never shot the collarless heads..i have shot many animals with the latter…i have shot animals as far as 25 yards and never noticed significant wind defflection..this was in very windy south texas. Im not comfortable shooting much past 25yrds…tho i have..i try not to. Wind can and will push an arrow..especially the further away you are and that stabilizing speed begins to decrease..i believe with more distance…that shot becomes very questionable..not because of wind..but the amount of time the animal has to move between string drop and impact..im not capable of shooting that far..especially if it was very windy.

I agree completely. I guess I should have clarified that I’m not looking to shoot 50 when the wind is blowing 35. I have practiced in 40 mph wind and you can’t even hold the bow on the target let alone settle a pin.
