When yall sight in your muzzleloaders are you cleaning the barrel after each shot to get the best accuracy? I'm changing up bullets this year and need to sight it back in and was just wondering what yall do to get the best accuracy possible out to 100 yards.

Clean barrel and wait to cool would be best if you have the patience

I may be in the minority, but I only clean at the end of the shooting session or when there’s enough fouling that it makes loading difficult. If I clean mid session it’s just running a wet patch through followed by a couple dry ones

If you are using white powder pellets you can wait and clean every four or five shots. If using black power or black pellets every three shots is good.

10-4 I actually use the 777 pellets and plan to change over to the 250 grain powerbelt aerolites is why I'm having to sight it in all over again.

I always swabbed between shots with 777. Damp patch/dry patch with more attention down where the crud ring forms. The crud ring was bothersome even shooting 100gr of 777, Out of habit I still run a dry patch after every shot even with BH209,

Powerbelts or sabots will leave plastic residue in the barrel so if you intend to hunt with a clean barrel, swabbing between shots is advised. I use full bore bullets with BH209 and swab every 4th shot. My cold barrel, primer fouled initial shot is always about an inch high and an inch right of warm fouled barrel shots at 150 yards.
