Anyone chase geese this weekend?

Nope, but I’m gonna see if I can find some teal next weekend!

Same here, Bear. I have a couple of farm ponds I’ve asked permission to hunt that the geese have been using. Hoping for some teal but you never know with them.

Do they taste good?

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

The place we were on had 9 or so waves of 20+ geese fly in, decoying and passing overhead at 20yds. We were kindly asked to leave 'em since his daughter is hunting them tomorrow. I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I did a few practice swings on 'em and damn if it didn't take everything I had not to let both barrels of the 28ga loose on them. Of course we'd have broken multiple laws, and pissed off our very very awesome host, so we didn't. A young boy got the go ahead to take a poke at them. He let loose with a Black Cloud 3" BB and had a grin from ear to ear afterwards. He was so proud. He also shot his first dove, so that was lagniappe.

If you up near Gadsden and Centre, they're out there and dumb as hell.

That all depends on the person and how they are cooked. Like most game animals, if cooked too long, they dry out and aren’t good.

I like the geese brined overnight and smoked. Teal I just breast out like a dove and make breaded fingers or wrap in bacon.
