15 miles West of Cullman

ZERO shots fired by me, maybe 15 birds shot total by 20 hunters on an 60 acre groomed outfitters field.

North of Cherokee had some birds and lots of shooting. Hopefully I’ll get my chances tomorrow

Killed 14 on a WMA field this afternoon. Birds were slow and sporadic but I managed to almost get a limit. Kept it under a box of shells too.

Very nice shoot on my friends farm north of mud creek. Hearing better reports coming off sand mountain. Everyone lost birds but they seem to be trickling back in.

I sure could use 5 dry sunny weeks

Killed 9. Got there late and wasn't in a very good spot. We had a lot of fun though with my retrievers on their first hunt.

I went to a friend of mines place about 8 miles the freeway side from Oneonta off of Hwy 231. Had 15 shooters, I killed 14, my friend/owner limited out, another guy killed 13, another 10, another 9, and the rest of the guys killed 3 to 4 each. They were sporadic coming in to the field that had millet, some sunflowers and top sewed with wheat. A few guys left about 5 PM, the rest of us stayed until sundown. I was hoping they would really turn on towards the evening but the hottest time seemed to be around 2-3 PM. Some came in single, sometimes 2 to 3 to a group.
I killed my first bird today at 12:55, it approached me head on as I had just opened my MT Dew bottle to take a swig. I threw up my shotgun one handed with the MT Dew still in my left hand and somehow hit him. That was just luck, not skill, lol
It got fairly hot by 1:30pm and I had broken out in a sweat with the sun beating down.

We had a decent shoot. 150-160 birds with about 18 licensed hunters and several kids. It was a lot slower than usual here, but judging by the fields that I got reports on, we were fortunate to have a decent shoot

Friend I was supposed to go with got 9, club is on the Paint Rock and goes up to the TN river.

Killed 7 up near Gadsden on a private field. 15 between 3 of us. Fair to moderate amount of birds around. Probably 60-70 killed between 10 or so shooters. Needed more shooters to keep them moving. Found a chert flake next to the first dove and a prosthetic indian nipple. What is this thing Skinny?

Seemed to be off a bit from years past but we only had three people shooting, the others sat around grilling out. We did hit the limit. West Etowah co

Lots of birds but not enough shooters in south Bibb

120 birds between 10 of us. Best between 3-4 o'clock.

Sitting at swan creek now, I saw one bird before shooting hours and zero since noon. Hoping it picks up soon. There were a good number of people here and I’ve only heard three shots so far. Was anyone out here yesterday? Was anyone seeing birds?

We lost a ton of birds the couple days before the opener. Still had plenty enough to make for a big time though. We ended up with 179 total.

We had a great hunt. Everyone shot limits with a lot of good dog work. 370 total

Looks like they had a good time. I took Jack yesterday for the first time. It worked out great for my dog because Jack loved going to get them so it made her see that she doesnt get to get them all.

A lot of birds both afternoons. Everyone limited that could shoot.

If anyone has a place In Jeff or Shelby county I would be glad to pay to bring my dog a shoot for an hour or 2 one evening or let someone else shoot and I will just work dog.

I shot 11 dive yesterday in Coy but they did not fly great - but that was a great hunt for me. Probably could hav killed a few more but I called guy over who was struggling in same field and let him shoot a few sitting by me

I was at my buddies place in Coy who was loaded with dove before storm - after storm not so much. 6 other people on same hunt yesterday did not kill 6 dove total

We had a way better shoot Saturday then we expected. If I had shot better it could have gotten ugly. Still shot way better then everyone else on the field.

Shot a cut corn field in Hartford, Al Saturday afternoon, me and a buddy killed 13 a piece. Lots of shooting going on, don't know the total for the field.

Killed a few in Covington County Saturday afternoon.

3 hunts and 3 limits. Had the fortune of shooting birds decoying to a mojo like I’m shooting greenheads.

My boys have burned through a case and half of shells.

Last Saturday I went to a friend's place between Alabaster and Columbiana. Arrived early to set up...saw very few flying. There were appx 15 shooters at the field. I saw maybe 10 doves that crossed the field all day but none came my way. I stayed until 6PM and packed up after not shooting anything. The doves were just not there this past weekend. No one killed anything.
This coming Sunday I am planning on going back to the friend's place outside of Oneonta that I went on opening day. He was up there first of the week just to scout, not hunt and reported there were over 200 in the millet and sunflowers. I hope they stick around until this weekend

Anybody know of a dove hunt for this weekend. Son finally wants to go dove hunting,been trying to get him to go for awhile.

Took an English Cocker on his first 2 hunts. Good hunt in Harpersville Sat, better one in Hurtsboro Sunday. He picked up 40 birds in 2 days (I had a lot of help shooting.)
