This past turkey season I put a vortex Venmo on my m2. Has any one tried shooting doves with a red dot ? I really don’t want to remove it for dove season just to have resight it in for turkeys and yes I have a few others guns I could shoot birds wilt but the m2 is my favorite
My son in law shoots a red dot. Same situation, uses the same shotgun for turkey and dove. He shoots real well with it. I tried it and would definitely take some getting used to for me.
Thanks for the reply, I’m not the best at wing shooting but love to shoot doves a few times a season. I’m going give it a whirl and take my over and under just incase
I shouldered a couple of guns with speed beads and they both got in my way so close to the grip. I have a vortex venom mounted on the receiver of my m2 and it doesn’t get in the way near as bad.

That’s how my m2 is I used a sumtoy mount! Only reason I’m trying it is because hate to remove it for doves then put it back on for turkeys. Also I’m far from a professional wing shooter I get to go on about 6-7 dove hunts a season and let face it I just plain suck and hitting them but I keep trying
Wing shooting is not about aiming at any specific point. It’s all lead and follow thru and putting shot in the area.
The bead on my M1 got smushed down and I still haven’t seen the need to replace it. Wing shooting is more instinctive than anything. As long as you shoulder it and weld your cheek on the stock consistently, you shouldn’t even notice the bead.
Best advise I’ve ever been given when wing shooting is this. When you are at bat, do you look at the end of your bat when you hit a ball?? No. You know where the end of your bat is and you keep your eyes on the ball and the rest follows. Keep your cheek planted and your barrel will follow where point of interest directs it
I turkey hunted with some guys at Westervelt several years ago. They were Cajuns and more into waterfowl than turkeys. They were surprised to see FF2 on a turkey gun, but they had them on their duck guns. Must work.
