I called WMS today - not ready yet
The Alabama blend is the best whitetail seed they hav according to them - but does nothing in the summer
The magnet is great if you want something that lasts all year
The Miss blend is good for deer but also better for turkeys than the other 2 - this is according to WMS and all 3 good for deer
You can also go to local coop and ask what they hav in a 4 or 5 or 6 way mix and it will be cheaper - like 257 said
Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self We need prayer for our country now more than ever

Several co-ops and several seed stores will carry WMS. I would find one and wait till they get stock in to buy some. Much cheaper that way. Late Aug and they will be in stock. Brassicas will not be at its best until you have a good frost or two. They they taste like sugar to deer. That is the reason you need to buy a blended seed like deer magnet so that other seeds feed the deer in early fall and brassicas feeds the deer in Dec. Jan and Feb. I didn't know they wouldn't start selling until the end of august. I thought they were almost out of everything because everything says out of stock.

After actually using my brain, I reckon this is how you do it, tell me if I'm wrong. If x seed says 10 lbs per acre, and y seed says 5 lbs per acre. First you figure what % of the plot you want in x or y. If you plant a 1/2 acre and want 50% of each, plant 2.5 lbs of x seed and 1.25 lbs of y seed. That sounds right to me, or am I beyond help?

Kale and daikon raddishes, or 257s sodbusters. Deer around here wont hardly eat turnip greens Seems like our deer don’t know what to do with brassicas. I’ve heard some say they have to learn to like them or they may have a bitter taste. Anyone else seen this? looks like the Mid west and northern deer tears them up from footage I’ve seen. Is there a “learning curve “ with purple tops, radishes , rape, etc? I like having them in a blend for the benefits like tonage, organic matter, breaking up hard pans , etc but i wish the deer would yank them up like I’ve seen elsewhere They get sweeter once there have been a couple frosts. THat is why they do well in colder climates. The deer on my lease eat them. All 3 of the clubs I have been in the deer have eaten them. The more I tinker, the more I think whitetail fusion is one of the best things to plant. I got 2 bucks sitting out in a small field of that with a little alfa rack mixed in, and they stay for 20 to 30 minutes a time. The turkeys stay in it.
