Any of y’all shot any TSS outta one? I got a couple recipes from Hal I’m gonna try, just wondering if anyone else had tried one.

I had a Tristar for my daughter. I had Hal’s 1.5 oz load. Something about that gun and the perceived recoil. I hated it. The trigger guard always seems to hit my middle finger in an odd way when I shot it.

The pattern was pretty tight at 40 yards.

I shot it too Shaun. Kicked like a mule. Worse than 1 5/8 20 gauge. He had it set up for his daughter to shoot, but ended up letting her shoot 1 3/8 in a 20 and was much better.

Good gosh why can’t Benelli or retay make a 28 Ga with a 21” barrel??? I would can my 20’s. My 1100 28ga is just too nice to be a turkey gun.

We’ve got a light 20 with a 28” modified barrel. My youngest son turkey and squirrel hunts with it. That thing will knock a squirrel out from a long way with lead 6s.

I was toying with the idea of getting a Steven's o/u in the 28 ga. Just didnt see the need to buy a new Turkey gun. I've already have 2 12 gauges, a 20, and the 410. But for now I'm not going down that road. Since I'm usually using the 20 all the time, but planning on using the 410 more next year.

I just bought a mossberg sa28 to do this. I have a yildiz o/u but never hunted with it much. I wasn’t pleased with the patterns.
I think I have two of his loads but can’t remember which one I tried.

Anxious to get the mossberg set up. I have a 525 Indian creek on the way.

Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

I have a Franchi 28 gauge. I shoot tss out of it, it shoots awesome and the recoil isn’t noticeable.

+1 I ran it in an English style straight stocked Ruger red label 28.. I’ll shoot it but it’d be tough on a youngster. That skinny buttstock always finds a way into my already weathered rotator cuff haha

I shot some factory #9 TSS through the flush full choke on a 28 gauge Beretta A-400 and it's a 40 yard turkey gun.

I found an 870 Wingmaster 28ga years ago and ordered all the components for Hal's recipes. I have everything still unopened in the box from Midway or Ballistic products as i never got around to toying with the 28. If anyone in the 28ga game is interested in the components, let me know.
